University of Hartford Degree Info:
BSBA, Barney School of Business, 2005, Valedictorian
Marketing concentration

Current Career Info:
Director of communication for the Specialty Commercial businesses, and communication lead for the President of The Hartford.

Past Career Info:
My marketing-communication expertise at The Hartford encompasses executive and sales communication, employee engagement and change management, and program and event management. Prior to my current role, I was responsible for The Hartford’s catastrophe claims communication program – utilizing direct email, social media, advertising, web and video content to help our customers and agents prevail in the event of a disaster or severe weather.

Other University of Hartford Activities/Volunteer Service:
As a member of the American Marketing Association all three years at the University, I was privileged to serve as the chapter’s President for the 2004-2005 term. I also was a member Beta Gamma Sigma, the business honor society.

Community Service:

My volunteerism reflects my passions for fast (classic) cars and apparently fast dogs, too. I am the PR Officer for the Valley Collector Car Club, a non-profit organization that fosters auto enthusiasm through charitable and other community events. In addition, my husband and I adopt retired greyhounds, and so we also support Connecticut Greyhound Adoption, the Connecticut Chapter of Greyhound Pets of America.

Why do you volunteer for the University of Hartford and the Alumni Association? Why do you think it is important to give back to your alma mater?
The University’s strong local business connections played an important role in introducing me to my first job at The Hartford – and I haven’t looked back since that first day more than a decade ago. Serving on the Alumni Board is an excellent way for me to contribute to the University’s network and help future generations take the first step in building rewarding careers of their own.
