Why do you volunteer for the University of Hartford and the Alumni Association? Why do you think it is important to give back to your alma mater?
The University of Hartford played a pivotal role in shaping who I am today. Being involved with the Alumni Board is not just an opportunity for me to give back to fulfill a personal debt. I chose to represent the young alumni because it is our network of alums that will help carry the University into the future. During a time in our lives when we turn our attention mapping our own future, it’s important not to forget the role that the University of Hartford played to get us where we are.

What would you like to accomplish as a new Board member?
I would like to help build awareness with current students regarding the ways they can continue to be involved with UHart after graduation.  Similarly, I want to help current alumni understand that their relationship with their institution doesn’t end when they receive their diploma.  There are so many opportunities to be involved.

What were you involved with at UHart?
I was heavily involved with Student Government and it afforded me the opportunity to sit on various University Committees and form relationships with many great students, faculty and staff.  I was also on the club volleyball team and played intramurals.

Why should alumni be involved with their alma mater?
UHart played a pivotal role in shaping who we are.  It’s important for us to never forget that and to always give back.  Plus, it’s fun!
