NEW FACILITY CAPITAL CAMPAIGN: OUR TOP PRIORITY

Greenberg Center Tribute and Campaign 25th Anniversary Fund: For all activities related to the restoration and renovation of the new location for the Maurice Greenberg Center on the University of Hartford campus.

ARCHAEOLOGY PROJECTS

Israel Activities Fund: To pay expenses incurred in conjunction with University of Hartford student participation in Israel study abroad activities. Examples may include but are not limited to expenses related to archeological digs, travel, meals, lodging, entrance fees, etc.

HOLOCAUST AND GENOCIDE EDUCATION

Holocaust and Genocide Education Fund: To support the programmatic needs of the Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies related to the Center’s Holocaust and Genocide education and prevention programs.

Holocaust Educators Workshop Fund: To provide funding for the administration, programs, public relations, and other costs incidental to the annual Holcaust Educators Workshop.

Holocaust Museum Fund: For the creation, exhibitions, programming, and events related to a Holocaust Museum at the University of Hartford.

International Jewish Documentary Program: For the creation, development, and ongoing needs of a documentary film program at the Maurice Greenberg Center.

The Joseph Korzenik Fellowship Fund in Holocaust Teaching: To provide fellowship awards to teachers from Connecticut and other New England states whose curriculum on the Holocaust has been judged of special merit by the Director of the Maurice Greenberg Center in partnership with Ararat Lodge #13 of the B'nai B'rith. Said curricula will serve as a resource for curriculum development and teaching methodology by faculty and students at the University of Hartford.

The Joseph Zola Fellowship Fund in Holocaust Teaching: To provide fellowship awards to teachers from Connecticut and other New England states.

LANGUAGES AND CULTURES

Islamic and Arabic Studies Fund: To support Arabic language and Islamic studies at the Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Hartford.

Waltman Family Fund: For expenses related to the annual Pincus Bernikier Memorial Yiddish Lecture; Yiddish films; the Jewish Fold Music Program, all of which recall the immigrant experience in America; the E.L Wallant Award, which provides a cash award for a nationally advertised best piece of fiction; and the Julius and Rose Kramer Epstein Cantorial Lecture.

OPERATIONS

Director's Special Projects Fund: For use by the Director of the Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies. Initiatives supported by Special Projects funds include the teaching of Hebrew language and culture and the annual Greenberg Center Awards Ceremony, which honors students and community members.

Associate Director's Special Projects Fund: For use by the Associate Director and Feltman Professor of Modern Jewish History at the Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies. Initiatives supported by Special Projects funds include the documentation of Holocaust and genocide survivor and descendant testimonies, especially related to the Sobibor camp in Poland and Hartford-area families.

Museum of Jewish Civilization Fund: To provide funding for the operation of the Museum of Jewish Civilization and its archives.
