Jail n’ Bail is coming to the University of Hartford!
Thursday, April 9, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
Do you ever wish you could lock up your
friends, classmates, or professors?
Well here’s your chance!
Jail n’ Bail is coming to the University of Hartford on Thursday, April 9. All funds raised will go to support the University of Hartford Anchor Fund.
The rules are simple:
- Choose your target.
- Fill out a warrant* online through April 8 or in person outside Gengras Student Union on April 9.
Warrants are $5 each.
Think you might be a target?
Buy your Get Out of Jail Card before it’s too late! Get Out of Jail Cards are available until Wednesday, April 8, and are $10 for students and $30 for faculty or staff.
So a warrant has been issued for your arrest. Now what? Defendants will be required to appear before a ‘judge’ between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., to have their "bail" set. Defendants then put on their Jail n' Bail inmate t-shirt and head to "jail" to begin soliciting donations in order to make bail.
Inmates can call, text, email, or use any other form of communication possible, to find friends, coworkers, or strangers to help bail them out! Multiple gifts can add up to make bail, or bail can be reached with one generous gift. Gifts will be accepted online and in person.
*Please note: Warrant officers will not enter classrooms. Warrants are not guaranteed and will not be fulfilled if defendant information is incomplete or if the defendant cannot be located.
